Autoclave
Biological Indicator Information Page
- Once a month a biological indicator test must be performed on any autoclave being used to disinfect recombinant or biohazardous material.
- Each Approval Holder is responsible for the documentation that a biological indicator has been performed once a month on the autoclave they are using.
- If someone outside of the laboratory is performing the test (i.e. Building Manager or Department) the results of each test must be made available to all Approvals that are using the autoclave so they can document when it was performed and what the results were.
- Below are links to biological indicators that the ORCBS recommends.
